Cheryl Shannon served 20 years in the United States Air Force.  She has held officer positions within American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Her top officer position held was the VFW Department Commander from 2015-2016.  She also served as the VFW Department Service Officer for four years.  She currently works for the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Office at the Cheyenne VA.
